Annual Thanksgiving Meal

On Thursday, November 17th, the Morgan School cafeteria held its annual Thanksgiving meal for students and staff.  Guided by kitchen manager Edwina Stevens, the kitchen crew at Morgan prepared and served almost 250 turkey dinners.  Preparations for this delicious meal began on Monday the 14th and built to a fever pitch in the hours before meal time.  Almost 89 pounds of turkey were cooked, along with 18 pounds of stuffing, 25 pounds of mashed potatoes, 5 gallons of turkey gravy , 16 pounds of mixed vegetables, 194 dinner rolls and 186 pieces of apple and pumpkin pie.  Students and staff look forward to this meal every year and it has become a bit of a tradition, having started about 10 years ago.  For some of our students, this is the only Thanksgiving meal they will have.  Thank you to the our wonderful food services crew!
