Boys soccer: Morgan beats Old Saybrook in Matchup of Shoreline Conference Titans

CLINTON -  Juan Avila recorded a hat trick, which included a penalty kick in the second half (see above)in Morgan’s 4-1 win over Old Saybrook Monday at the Indian River Complex in a battle of the top two teams currently in the Shoreline Conference.

The Huskies (10-1) scored three unanswered goals to win their eighth straight game. Their only loss was to Old Lyme (2-0) on Sept. 19. Tyler Newfield also socred for Morgan.

Aiden Reid had the only goal for Old Saybrook (8-2-1). This is the only regular-season meeting between the two schools, but a potential meeting could happen in the Shoreline tournament, which begins Nov. 4.
