On Wednesday, March 16, nineteen students from Joel and Pierson Schools travelled to Washington, CT, to participate in the 20th Annual CT COLT Rhyme Celebration.  The students from Joel, under the direction of Señora Moran and Señora Godburn, performed “En la Pulga de San José.” The Pierson students, prepared by Señora Recine, performed the popular Cuban song, “Guantanamera.”  Kudos to the children for representing Clinton Public Schools in this state-wide event.

Two Joel students, Andrew and Kayli, were honored at the Connecticut Association of Schools' Celebration of the Arts event at Aqua Turf in Southington.  The two were chosen for their talent
in art/music as well as good character traits displayed in the classroom. Andrew is the art recipient and Kayli is the music recipient.  Their families along with co-principals Jack Gedney and Claudia Norman, music teacher Nancy McAllister and art teacher Gail Gosselin attended. Everyone enjoyed an evening of festivities and entertainment as they were joined by scores of school districts from around Connecticut.  Congratulations to Andrew and Kayli!

MORGAN SCHOLARS (November 10, 2010)  - This year's Morgan Scholars were recognized for ranking in the top 5% of their class.  Juniors and seniors are eligible for the award.  The following students were presented with Morgan sweatshirts:  Kaitlyn Elliot, Tsering Lhamo, Emily Perzanoski, Kelly Roche, Elena Schroeder and Jason Zhang.  The sweatshirts are funded, in part, by local businesses and industries.  All six students will be inducted into the National Honor Society at a dinner on November 10th.  The Board credited parents and family for sending the district such high-caliber students.  Morgan Principal Keri Hagness is shown here with 5 of the honorees.
