Jared Eliot Middle School has also been recognized for excellence by the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS). Linda Tucker and her staff submitted a self-study last year as part of the NELMS Spotlight Award. This is one of the NELMS programs that evaluates a variety of criteria representing the standards they have established for exceptional middle schools. Eliot was then one of three middle schools in New England selected as a finalist for the award and a site team visited from NELMS to compare the self-study to the reality. Although not quite as intense as an accreditation process it is a very similar process.  This week we were notified that Jared Eliot Middle School was selected as the Spotlight Award Recipient for 2012.
