E-Mail & SMS Updates

The CIAC offers multiple options for people interested in receiving notifications on CIAC sports information:

E-Mail Updates

Their are two separate options for e-mail listserves:

This list allows people to request updates on schedule changes, postponements and cancellations for regular season contests of member schools. You can customize your subscription to only receive information on the schools and/or sports that interest you.

o    Click here to subscribe to this service or change your subscription settings.

A mailing list is available for each CIAC sponsored championship. Members of these lists will receive tournament pairings, results and information updates for the specific sport or sports requested.

o    Click here to add or remove your e-mail address from any of these lists.

SMS (Text Message) Updates

You can sign up to receive text message updates with scores, postponements and other info for CIAC sponsored championships. You can request info for all teams in a tournament, or limit your updates to a specific school or division.

The CIAC does not charge for this service, however standard text messaging rates from your mobile carrier will apply.

These SMS updates are only for CIAC Tournament Game information, not for regular season scores or changes on individual schools schedules. If you are looking for regular season changes by e-mail or text, sign up for this list.

Twitter Updates

Follow @ciacsports on Twitter for the quickest updates for results, postponements and information for all CIAC championships as well as other CIAC news. We also tweet decisions by the board of control and sports committees where appropriate.

If you only want updates on particular sports you can follow one or more of the Twitter users below. Note that these accounts are subaccounts of @ciacsports, so if you are following the main account following the subaccounts will cause you to receive duplicate tweets.

2016-17 Morgan Scholars Honored

posted Dec 6, 2016, 12:20 PM by Allison Friday   [ updated Dec 7, 2016, 5:18 AM ]

Congratulations to this year's Morgan Scholars!  They are shown here flanked by Morgan Principal Keri Hagness,
Board of Education Chair Annaliese Spaziano, and Superintendent Maryann O'Donnell.
(l. to r.: Hagness, Madison Seeger,  Nina Kelly, Brett Martin, Matthew Beauvais, Katherine Daley, Andraya Carse, Kaitlyn Maurais, Spaziano, O'Donnell)

To earn the this distinction, a student must be ranked in the top 5% of his/her respective class.  Juniors and seniors are eligible for the award.  The students (all juniors) were awarded a Morgan Sweatshirt with “Morgan Scholar” embroidered on it in recognition of their achievements.  Also, the students’ accomplishments will be engraved on a plaque displayed in the high school’s academic showcase.  Local businesses and industries assist in funding the cost of the sweatshirts and plaque. This year’s announcement makes 229 students honored as Morgan Scholars since the program’s inception in 1990.

CAPSS Student Award Winners

posted Nov 28, 2016, 12:37 PM by Allison Friday   [ updated Nov 28, 2016, 12:38 PM ]

Two Morgan students, Jenna Morella and Aidan Esposito were honored at Saybrook Point Inn & Spa with the CT Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS) Student Award.  The students were selected for their
  • community service and service to others
  • academic prowess (relative to ability)
  • leadership service to the school community
The award is designed to move beyond the academic achievers who routinely receive recognition and to reach a wider spectrum of individuals.  Congratulations to Jenna and Aidan and their families.  They are shown here with Morgan principal Keri Hagness.
