Intellectually gifted children are those individuals who can realize specific accomplishments at a level that is well beyond the performance level of other children of the same grade or age.

Clinton Public Schools identifies students in three specific areas: Art, Music and/or Intellectually Gifted. Once a student qualifies in a particular area, the identification status remains throughout their academic career. Additional areas may be added based on the individual student's performance during subsequent years (for example, a student qualifying as Musically Talented in third grade, may qualify as Artistically Talented in fifth grade, resulting in a combined identification of Musically/Artistically Talented).
