Technology

The Information Technology team supports all academic, administrative, and business operations of the Clinton Public Schools. It is the mission of the department to support the infusion of technology, promoting environments where students, teachers, and staff use technology to enrich their experiences. Additionally, our department strives toward ensuring safe environments for students and staff by implementing and maintaining various levels of security technologies such as emergency alert systems, surveillance cameras, and door access controls.

For the start of the 2019 school year, the Technology Department implemented several improvements to District’s programs and facilities including:

  • Rebuilding the entire network infrastructure at Jared Eliot Middle School improving wireless connectivity and availability, building a reliable and robust network, and wiring for future projects and improvements.
  • Expanding our Chromebook 1 to 1 program to grades 5 through 8.
  • Adding wall-mounted interactive LCD projectors or SMART interactive displays to all instructional rooms in grades 1 through 8.

As part of our capital improvement plan, it is our goal to focus on the infrastructure needs of Lewin Joel Elementary School for the start of the 2020 school year.

Our vision for technology integration includes:

  • Enhancing student engagement and learning through the use of technology
  • Integrating technology into learning experiences to develop creative, responsible, informed, and discerning global citizens
  • Maximizing opportunities for students and staff to utilize technology for research, collaboration, and expression of ideas and information
  • Ensuring equity, access, and experiences
  • Providing quality professional development and time for staff to explore, share and embed new instructional approaches
  • Continuing to develop and build capacity within the district to train and support students and staff
  • Utilizing technology applications to better communicate with and enhance the connections among schools, staff, students, families, and the community
  • Ensuring a collaborative approach to decision-making as we explore and evaluate emerging technology applications and trends consistent with Clinton Public Schools Strategic Priorities
