The District Curriculum Advisory Team serves to guide and support, and collaborate with, established Curriculum Renewal Teams and their ad-hoc subcommittees. This work will support the Clinton Public Schools’ mission to empower learners to embrace and influence the future with courage and compassion and support its strategic teaching and learning priorities to provide personalized learning opportunities to develop engaged and reflective learners who can apply their learning and ensure academic achievement and learning for all students in all disciplines.
Responsibilities of the District Curriculum Advisory Team:
● Identify and tailor a curriculum model that is aligned with state and national standards and appropriate to the mission and strategic priorities of Clinton Public Schools
● Develop a universal curriculum renewal process and cycle for all district curriculum renewal teams that focuses on authentic and relevant learning experiences and varied means of assessment to identify what student should know and be able to do at each grade level
● Provide guidance and feedback to curriculum renewal teams as they review, revise, implement, monitor, and assess implementation of curricula prior to Board of Education adoption.
● Share information regarding curriculum development with building-based colleagues and other stakeholders
Membership:
● Assistant Superintendent of Schools (Chair)
● Principals of each school
● Directors of Special Services and Technology
● Special Education and Related Arts representatives
● Classroom/Department teacher representatives from each school
Commitment:
● Advocate for a strong, cohesive, and engaging curriculum that supports the needs of all learners
● Stay current with trends, research, and literature in the areas of curriculum design, implementation and assessment.
● Serve as a resource for teachers to support their work during the curriculum renewal process
● Attend and participate in 3-4 meetings annually
